Experience in New Taipei city is realized in Guam
The international cooperation plan of the care and medical cloud platform between JAG Technology in New Taipei City and Guam Memorial Hospital was officially launched this morning. During the launching ceremony, the Governor of Guam, Lourdes Leon Guerrero, expressed his gratitude and expectation for this cooperation, and even sent the Director of the Guam Taiwan Office (GTO), Shu-fen Yan, to issue a certificate of appreciation. The guests, including the Director of the Information Management Center, Fu-Tian Chen, the Chairman of the board of JAG Technology, Dian-Xiu Zuo, the Chief Honorary Advisor of Taiwan Medical and Healthcare Smart Tech Industry, Zou-Yan Lin, and the Chairman of the board of ZHI KANG Venture Capital Investment Company, Ltd., Da-Ren Zhou, attended the meeting.

In the experience of combating COVID-19 with science and technology in New Taipei City, the government worked together with JAG Technology to optimize the Tele-Remote Virtual Ward Platform. This case has not only become the best practice of technological pandemic prevention among local governments but it has also been recognized by international experts in the 2022 GO SMART Award and won the Most Promising City Project. Now, the Guam Government announced the reopening plan, and the Guam Memorial Hospital has cooperated with JAG Technology on a Tele-Remote Virtual Ward Platform with the assistance of the Guam Taiwan Office, so that the local technological pandemic prevention experience and the enterprise resources in New Taipei City can help our friend, Guam, to strengthen the healthcare system capacity in Guam.

Facing the challenge of the pandemic, the New Taipei City Government launched the virtual ward platform “iCare Health Cloud 1.0” in May 2021 for the care of isolated cases in quarantine centers. After the experience of combating COVID-19 variants, the New Taipei City Government hoped to realize a new form of citizen safety and health through Smart Health. Therefore, the government launched “iCare Health Cloud 2.0” this year, which integrates past experience and practice, so that the citizens can use the cloud big data platform to do health condition management, which allows the New Taipei City Government to go further on smart pandemic prevention.

The Chairman of the New Taipei City Government Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, Feng-Yu Lin, also expressed his happiness at the results, “I am very glad that New Taipei technological pandemic prevention experience can be used in Guam, and I also hope that New Taipei medical technology industry can continue to make contributions internationally.” In the post-pandemic era, many countries are gradually moving towards a new lifestyle of “coexisting with the virus”. The pandemic has widened the distance between people, but with the help of technologies, medical care services can enter communities and families, so that citizens can receive better healthcare services, and the government can accelerate the realization of a new model of healthcare in the future.
